Ted Andrews, an excellent human being who left the planet several years ago, wrote a number of books. One of which I am obviously meant to dig into more deeply.
At the last Victory of Light (in April), my friend and gifted massage therapist and psychic, walked up to my table with a book, which she had just bought for me. It was not an edition I had seen before, but I thought it was a book I already owned. When I got home that night, I checked the pile of books beside my bed. Sure enough, Ted Andrews’ Enchantment of the Faerie Realm: Communicate with Nature Spirits and Elementals, was right there.
I told Judy the next day, and gave her the book back to return – also assuring her that I was finally going to read the book. A couple of days after that, while going through the piles of books on the shelves of the table beside the bed – I found yet another edition of the book. So I knew Spirit was serious about me getting into the book.
My intellect has always argued a bit with Ted’s books, because they are basically transcriptions of workshops he has done. And they are often simple and repetitive. Which makes sense. But does not make for my favorite kind of reading.
So now, several months later, I have read most of the book. But have not yet wandered out into the yard, or even on to the porch, to do one of the meditations which will bring me face to face with a dragon, a tree spirit, a faerie, or any of the other nature folk Ted talks about. Now that they have pushed their way into my consciousness yet again (by rising to the top of my stack of stuff to blog about), I’m going to go outside and sit down and hang out with them. Right after On Being on WVXU. : >
